The heavy stuff. Overhauls, gearbox rebuilds, clutches, timing belts and major mechanical repairs.
If any of these match what you're seeing, we can take a look. Each one is a common issue we handle.
Engine shakes or rev needle wobbles at a standstill. Usually a misfire — we diagnose plugs, coils, injectors and vacuum leaks.
Slow pickup, stutter on acceleration or feels gutless. We check fuel pressure, ignition, sensors and intake restrictions.
Metallic tapping under load. Could be pre-ignition, low-octane fuel or worn internals. We inspect and adjust accordingly.
Persistent white smoke (not just cold-start condensation) usually means coolant in the combustion chamber — head gasket territory. We test and quote.
Oil being burned in the engine. Usually worn piston rings or valve stem seals. We do a compression / leak-down test to confirm.
Excessive fuel — clogged air filter, faulty mass airflow sensor or leaking injector. We scan for fuel-trim codes and inspect.
Topping up oil too often between services. We pressure-test and run a compression check to find the cause.
Grinding or hard-to-engage gears in a manual. Usually clutch hydraulics or worn synchros. We service or rebuild.
Revs rise but speed doesn't follow. Clutch replacement (manual) or transmission service / rebuild (auto). We diagnose first.
Hot rubber, oil or electrical smell. We stop and trace it — common causes are clutch, oil leak onto exhaust, or a dragging brake.
Temperature gauge climbs into the red. We pressure-test cooling, inspect thermostat, water pump, radiator and fans. Do not keep driving.
Approaching the service interval, hearing a rattle from the front of the engine, or oil leak from the timing area. We inspect and replace.
